1953 MG TD – SOLD

1953 MG TD

This delightful MG TD, first registered in May 1953, appears to be in very original condition and hence is a little ‘scruffy around the edges’.  Despite that, it appears to be very sound and drives extremely well indeed with everything working, and with the great advantage of one non-original part – that being the gearbox, which is now 5-speed, giving an enhanced driving experience, and the ability to keep up with modern traffic.  This is a car to love and use as it is, or to improve whilst using.  It starts on-the-button and ticks over very well, with good oil pressure and great performance – no strange noises.  The underside of the car, again, is a little scruffy but appears to be sound, whilst the paintwork could be improved.   The doors fit well, the chrome is fair, and the interior is mainly original but very good for its age.  The canvas hood, which is fairly new, fits well and the original side-screens are good, but could do with some re-colouring.  A lovely old car at a very good price.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for othe interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive

First registered in November 1978, this excellent MGB is in very good condition throughout and looks splendid in its Pageant  Blue coachwork, together with original interior which is good, including door cards, headlining, and carpets.  The car has obviously been very well maintained over the years, and we believe it has covered only 65,000 miles.  The bodywork is good, with just a few blemishes, good castle sections, sills etc, and the underside is very clean.  The paintwork, including the under bonnet area  and boot is very good and in the original colour.  The car drives very well, with strong engine, good oil pressure and no overheating, and it performs and handles well, with good brakes, smooth gearbox and working overdrive.  Rostyle wheels with matching Bridgestone tyres.  Will come with new MOT, workshop manual, V5C, taxed and registered, so ready to go.

1971 MGB Roadster – SOLD

1971 MGB Roadster

This MGB is excellent value, in fact it’s a bargain – so don’t miss it!!

Over the years it has had extensive restoration, in particular during 2020 when the bodywork was restored, with new three-piece sills, floors, wing sections and a repaint, which was very nicely done.  The panels all fit well and the car looks very smart in its British Racing Green livery.  The suspension has all been rebuilt, the brakes have been improved with upgraded discs, the engine runs well (probably a gold seal unit) and the 4-speed manual gearbox appears to be good as is the clutch etc.  The tyres are good.  The interior of the car could do with some improvement but the leather-faced seats are good.  It would appear from the paperwork file that the car was in the same ownership from 2006 to 2023, but unfortunately, the long-term owner having passed away, a few minor jobs remain from the original restoration – mainly a few electrical jobs, tidying the interior, and replacement of the pedal assembly cover box.  We have just fitted a brand new, good quality hood, as you can see from the photographs.  Comes with V5C and paperwork file including lots of old invoices.  Serious enquiries only please.

1994 MG RV8, 15,500 miles only – SOLD

1994 MG RV8

In a nutshell, this is a superb, low mileage, properly maintained example, in excellent all-round condition, and driving just as it should.  Only 15,500 miles – what more do you want?!

The car was originally exported to Japan, as were many of these cars, before returning in 2006.  It was then sold to the current owner in 2018 – so three owners in total – and he has thoroughly enjoyed his ownership, selling only because he needs to reduce his collection.

Finished in Pearlescent Woodcote Green with Stone Beige interior and black mohair hood, there is a full tonneau and separate hood cover, also Stone Beige, together with a storage bag.  The car sits on refurbished RV8 alloy wheels with four matching Dunlop tyres.  The bodywork appears to be unmarked and the upholstery is in fine condition.

This is a powerful motor car, giving 190 bhp with top speed of 135 mph, and 0-60 in 5.9 seconds.  The car starts immediately and offers an exhilirating drive with excellent gearbox, brakes and suspension.

You can now view a video of this car running, on either our Facebook page or on Instagram, just click on the link on our Home page.

Comes with original sales brochure, handbooks, V5C, MOT to March 2024 and a good history file.

SOLD

1974 MGB GT V8 with Overdrive – SOLD

1974 MGB GT V8 with Overdrive

A genuine British Leyland V8, built in January 1974 and first registered in February of that year, supplied from new by University Motors.  The car is in truly splendid condition having had only four owners over its 49 year life.

The bodywork is all original and therefore all the panels fit correctly; the paintwork was refreshed several years ago and remains pretty much perfect.  The interior of the car is mainly as it left the factory with the exception of replacement leather seats.  The headlining, door cards, carpets and seats – as just mentioned – are first class, as is the dashboard.  The original wheels have been restored and the tyres were recently replaced with correct Uniroyals.

The spare tyre compartment is very clean and tidy as is the under-bonnet area, all in keeping with the outstanding overall condition.  The underside of the car is well Waxoyled and undersealed, this work having been carried out regularly.

The car has been serviced annually by Beer of Houghton – a very well respected MG garage, which has also, over the years, carried out much maintenance and restoration work, including engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and the paintwork mentioned above.

This car performs extremely well, with well sorted engine, giving plenty of power – a nice quick V8.  Oil pressure is good, no overheating, good gearbox and overdrive, quiet back axle, good brakes.

Comes with MOT to May 2024, original sales invoice, Heritage Certificate and all original Leyland paperwork.

This must be one of the best genuine V8s for sale at the moment.

We are always looking to purchase good MGs or other interesting classics, and are pleased to consider part-exchange.  We can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.
