2002 MG TF 1.8 Stepspeed – SOLD

2002 MG TF 1.8 Stepspeed

An excellent British Racing Green sports car, offering a lot of enjoyment for little money.  This car has covered just under 54,000 miles, and has been well maintained.  The bodywork is good, with only a couple of imperfections, the interior is in lovely, original condition, the carpets are good and the rear carpeted boot is also good.  Very clean and tidy underbonnet area.  Looking very smart in the best shade of green, with matching green canvas soft top (which takes only 15 seconds to lower or raise) and sports alloy wheels on good matching, quality tyres.  Approximately 6,000 miles ago, the car had a new head gasket, water pump, cam belt and replacement water pipes, so all in order.  In addition, the car has been fitted with an MG TF ‘soft ride suspension kit’, so has 4 new soft ride coils and dampers.  It has new front disc brakes and pads, two new front tyres, a new battery and has its track aligned.  This is a very nice car to drive, with good performance.  It can be used in fully automatic mode (so just like any automatic car), or in manual sports steptronic ie using the paddles or the gearstick, but no clutch.  Good brakes, great handling – these MG TFs are a terrific mid-engined car, and are rapidly becoming very desirable.  Comes with MOT to 4th March 2025, V5C, file of paperwork, handbook and workshop manual.

1959 Triumph TR3A with Overdrive – SOLD

1959 Triumph TR3A with Overdrive

This is a great looking TR3A in navy blue with tan interior, all in very good condition.  This is a genuine right-hand drive vehicle with its original registration number.  The car underwent a body-off restoration some years ago, which is documented by photographs in its history file, and has been very well maintained ever since – it is in nice, original specification, the only slight variation being that the engine has been bored out to 2.2 litre with new later type cylinder heads.  The result is that the car performs extremely well and is further enhanced by the highly desirable overdrive.   The engine was rebuilt in 2017 and we understand that the front suspension was renewed recently.  The car has been in long-term ownership from 2012 until very recently and during this period, there has been significant investment in maintaining and enhancing the car.  The bodywork is excellent with good, well-fitting panels, the leather interior is first class, the hood is like new and side screens are good, all fitting properly.  The underside is structurally excellent and clean and tidy, whilst the under bonnet area is nicely detailed.  The engine is strong, giving good performance, good oil pressure and no overheating.  This is a great car to drive, with everything working well, good gearbox, rear axle etc – a true ‘driver’s car’.  The history file suggest that it has covered 92,500 miles.  Comes with V5C, old green continuation book, some invoices, MOT history and having just been fully serviced, also comes with new MOT.

1934 Morris Minor Two Seater – SOLD

1934 Morris Minor Two Seater

Pre-war Morris Minors really are a lot of fun, and easy to own.  This particular example, which comes with a Heritage Certificate, was built between 5th and 9th April 1934 and was first registered on 26th May of that year.  The car is in very good condition, having been restored in 2011/12 to a good standard.  The engine was given another rebuild in 2018, to include Phoenix crankshaft, by Formhalls Vintage & Racing, well known vintage engine specialists.  The result is that the car starts and runs very well, with lively performance for a car of this age/type.  The bodywork is in good condition with well-fitting doors, and the paintwork has mellowed over the years giving a lovely patina.  The interior is well finished in black to match the outside, and there is what looks to be a brand new full tonneau cover.  The area behind the seat, which folds forwards, offers a good storage area.  Wheels, tyres and brakes are all good, and the underside is clean and tidy.  There is nothing really to do to the car – except enjoy it – a great car for the summer season.  Comes with good file of paperwork, current V5C.

1936 Austin Seven APD Tourer – SOLD

1936 Austin Seven APD Tourer

First registered in April 1936, this is a late APD Two-Seater Tourer in fine fettle, nicely finished in royal blue with black wings and nicely re-upholstered black interior.  The car was extensively restored some years ago, and has been very well maintained and improved by the current owner, who purchased the car back in 2012.  Mechanically, it is first class, having been fully sorted, and now with the benefit of a fully rebuilt engine with Phoenix crankshaft and SU carburettor. Rebuilt gearbox.  This is one of the nicest driving Austin Sevens we have had (and boy, have we had a few!!) with strong engine, excellent new clutch, easy to use gearbox and well sorted suspension and steering.  As you can see from the photographs, the car is clean and tidy underneath, the bodywork is in good order with good but older paintwork and the chrome work is good.  There is a full set of weather gear with canvas hood, plus side screens.  Matching Waymaster tyres all round – nearly new.  Good electrical wiring, with charging system working properly.  All in all, a very good car which will provide much enjoyment.  Paperwork includes V5C, buff log book dating back to 1956 and showing the same registration number and engine number, recent invoices and handbook.

1938 MG TA – SOLD

1938 MG TA

We are very pleased to offer for sale this super example of the highly desirable pre-war TA Midget.  This car was first registered in October 1938 and comes with a comprehensive history file, which includes a photograph album charting its complete restoration over a 26 year period from 1974 to 2000.  Originally finished in Saxe Blue (in our opinion not the best colour for a T Type), it was repainted during its restoration in the current, more attractive colour scheme which is reminiscent of the earlier pre-war MGs.  The restoration work carried out was extensive, including a total strip-down, new body tub and rebuild of all mechanicals to include engine and gearbox rebuild.  A new wiring loom was fitted.  Much of this work was carried out by a well-known MG restorer, Andy King and the beautiful, mostly leather interior was provided by Collingburn.  The car remains in excellent condition including paintwork, interior and underside.  The bespoke canvas hood, side screens, and full and half tonneau covers are pretty much like new.  The spoked wheels are in good condition.  All the dials are correct and seem to be working (not sure about the clock) and there is even the original reserve petrol switch, slow running cable and fully fitted tool box.  The doors on this car do fit very well.  Driving this car is great fun, with an easy start-up, nice gearbox and clutch, and good brakes for a pre-war car.  The large file of paperwork includes V5C and continuation book, along with a useful lubrication chart, wiring diagram etc.
