1936 Morris Eight 4-Seater Tourer – SOLD

1936 Morris Eight 4-Seater Tourer

We are delighted to offer for sale this very interesting Morris Eight Tourer – an affordable car offering plenty of space for four people, and even a dog!  The car has a very interesting history, well documented by extensive paperwork, including invoices, lots of old MOT certificates, buff-coloured log book, and details of its restoration back in the 1970s.  The current owner has even put together a list of previous owners, all the way back to 1943.  There is also an original handbook, together with a Morris Register manual.  Originally, the car began life as a saloon, and was rescued from a field by the restorer of the car in 1970 – we have the bill of sale from this transaction – the princely sum of £9 changed hands.  The bodywork at this stage, was so bad that a comprehensive rebuild was undertaken, and the car was converted to a tourer, using all original parts.  The engine is one of the Series I engines used by the military – these were surplus to requirements once the Centurion tanks were discontinued.  It has been very well maintained  over the years, and is in pretty good fettle, finished in Primrose Yellow with dark blue wings and blue Rexine interior.  The underside is structurally good and tidy, the paintwork is generally satisfactory, but has some age-related blemishes – all adds to the charming patina.  Good weather gear including hood, matching side screens and hood cover.  The car starts easily and drives well, with a nice gearbox – no clunks!!  It has covered only 15,500 miles from 1981, has been featured in three BBC documentaries and has worked 75 weddings!!  A terrific old car with a very interesting history – one to cherish and enjoy.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for othe interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1965 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1965 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

A really beautiful, home-market example built in December 1965 and first registered in May 1966.  Finished in dark British Racing Green with contrasting leather interior, with chrome wire wheels and black, quality double-duck hood.  This car has had a fortune spent it over the years, including an extensive body restoration and repaint in 2013, a complete new interior in 2023 and most recently (May 2024), a reconditioned 3-synchro gearbox complete with overdrive was fitted.  We understand that a reconditioned Ivor Searle 5-bearing engine was fitted approximately 11,000 miles ago.  A  few minor modifications have been made along the way, to include the fitting of electric ignition, rear Spax shock absorbers, and a Kenlowe cooling fan.  Recently the front shock absorbers and kingpins were replaced.  The underside of the car is excellent, the engine bay is nicely detailed and the corrosion-free boot is carpeted.  Low mileage matching tyres are fitted to very good condition chrome wire wheels.  This is not only a great looking car with no bodywork issues, it is also a great driver, with nice smooth engine, gearbox, banjo type axle, and the benefit of overdrive.  Very good performance and handling – an absolute pleasure to drive.  Comes with a good file of old invoices, old MOT certificates, Heritage Certificate, workshop manual, current V5C, and MOT to August 2025.

1936 Austin Seven Opal – SOLD

1935 Austin Seven Opal

This is a delightful little motor car for not a lot of money – an excellent entry-level car into the classic car world.  The car has been restored in recent years and is generally in very good condition now – restoration work included new upholstery, canvas hood, hood cover and side screens, new floors and, we think from the way the car drives, restoration of the engine, 4-speed gearbox and clutch.  The underside is as clean as a whistle.  The suspension is again, all clean and tidy and well-greased.  The car has quite obviously been well cared for and is looking to acquire a new, enthusiastic owner.  It starts easily and runs very well with nice clutch and good (for an Austin Seven!!) brakes.  Comes with V5C and old buff continuation log book from 1957, which confirms that the registration number is more than likely the original.

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

A very, very good example in splendid condition, having been extensively restored in 2015, including a brand new Heritage body shell. Resplendent in Midnight Blue with lovely contrasting leather interior, together with walnut dashboard and door cappings, and Moto-Lita steering wheel. The bespoke weather gear is quality dark blue double duck, and fits perfectly, as does the matching full tonneau cover. The car stands on chrome wire wheels with good matching tyres. The under-bonnet area is excellent and the boot is well carpeted with spare wire wheel. Being a Heritage body shell, only a few years old, there are no corrosion problems and the panels fit well – no need to slam the doors. All the work was professionally carried out by CCHL of Hull, the well-respected MG restoration company. The mechanics are all in excellent condition, with very quick engine, good, smooth gearbox and back axle, and overdrive. The underside of the car is obviously in good condition. The suspension has been uprated to telescopic dampers all round, and the braking system has been improved, with vented front discs. The result of all this work is a very well maintained car, which drives superbly, offering great performance and excellent braking. Paperwork file includes MOT certificate to June 2025, invoice for service in June 2024, engineer’s report after the car had been restored and workshop manual.

1990 TVR S3 – SOLD

1990 TVR S3

What a terrific sports car this is – it looks fantastic, is in great condition and goes like the clappers!!  The car was first registered on 29th June 1990 and has had a number of caring owners who have obviously loved the vehicle, as there is an extremely good and full service history which comes with the car.  Last serviced on 22nd May 2024, it is in tip top mechanical order.  The MOT certificate which has no advisories, runs to 12th April 2025.  The condition of the car is very, very good, with excellent bodywork, well-finished in dark, pearlescent blue – only one minor spider on the bonnet.  The interior, resplendent in cream leather is again, in good condition, including seats, door cards, dashboard and the main carpeting.  The targa top is very good and is easy to remove for open air motoring.  The boot area is carpeted and is in fine order.  The under bonnet area is very clean and tidy as is the underside of the car – the structure is very good indeed.  Driving the car is very exciting with tremendous power from the 2.9 litre Ford engine which is mated to a Ford 5-speed gearbox.  The acceleration is phenomenal and the road-holding is superb.  Excellent TVR alloys with matching nearly new tyres (only 250 miles).  Only 88,000 miles in 34 years.  This car is extremely quick and the driving experience is enhanced by the fabulous V6 sound.  Paperwork includes lots of old MOT certificates, invoices, service records, workshop manual, handbook and V5C.
