1977 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1977 MGB GT with Overdrive

Finished in the extremely attractive shade of Chartreuse Yellow, this example is in good condition, having been extensively restored in 2019.  The car was first registered in 1st January 1977, so was built in 1976.  The renovation work included a complete bare metal respray, new doors and bonnet, and we have a photographic record of this.  At this time, the brakes were fully overhauled, as was the cooling system, and electronic ignition was fitted.  The interior work included recovering the seats in black leather, and the wheels were also refurbished at the same time.  We believe the mileage of 56,000 to be genuine.  The car starts and runs well with good gearbox and overdrive, and well performing engine – which we think is the original.  The underside is good and sound.  There is however, a little room for improvement on this car – hence the price.  The history file includes its original Passport to Service, Owner’s Handbook and old invoices.  V5C and MOT to 21st September 2024.

1966 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1966 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

An excellent value MGB Roadster, with a long history and in the desirable shade of  Mineral Blue.  This car has been in the same ownership for 30 years, and in total, has had only 5 keepers.  It is in good condition, having been completely restored on an ongoing basis during the 1990s, and very well maintained thereafter.  The paintwork is generally good, with just a few blemishes to perhaps sort out, and the underside of the vehicle, including structure, is in very good condition – nice and clean and tidy.  The doors however, would benefit from a little realignment – hence the realistic asking price.  The sills and front wings have been replaced, as have the boot corners and floors. Mechanically, the car is in fine fettle and in fact, has just driven 220 miles to our premises with no issues whatsoever.  The engine has excellent oil pressure and runs very well, providing very good performance with good working overdrive.  Driving this car is a good experience.  The original seats are very good, as are the door cards, carpets, hood and tonneau.  In 2002, all four wheel hubs were replaced and new wire wheels were fitted.  A brake servo is fitted and the cylinder head has been converted to unleaded.  All in all, a very good car for very little money. Comes with good history file, old invoices etc.

1955 MG TF 1500 – SOLD

1954 MG TF 1500

This is a quite rare example of the MG TF, firstly because it is a 1500 model, and secondly because it is a very late car, built in 1955 – one of only a few that didn’t go to the USA in that year.  This particular car, which has a correct 1500 XPEG engine, has obviously been extensively restored and is in excellent condition throughout.  The bodywork is very good and the panels all fit correctly, even the doors.  The biscuit coloured interior is in good but mellowed condition;  the dashboard and all its instruments are in good condition, as are the steering wheel, canvas hood and side screens.  The paintwork is pretty much unmarked, so again, very good.  The underside of the car is clean and tidy and well maintained.  In 2010, a 5-speed gearbox was fitted – a great improvement, as any TF owner will tell you.  The car starts easily and runs well with good performance, good oil pressure, smooth gear change and a quiet back axle.  The tyres have obviously been replaced recently and all four are Khunos.  A useful boot rack has been fitted, this is easily removable if you choose.  Comes with some paperwork including some old invoices, lots of old MOT certificates, current V5C, two old V5s, old V5C and even a continuation book from 1963 -1976.  A very nice car indeed, and one not to be missed.

1954 MG TF 1250 – SOLD

MG TF 1250

This lovely example was first registered in June 1954, is in excellent condition throughout and is a real delight to drive.  It is an original right-hand drive, home market car, with factory fitted disc wheels and we have a Heritage Certificate confirming its build date, chassis and engine number etc.  It is well finished in an attractive mid-red shade, with complimentary biscuit coloured interior including leather seats, and the all black canvas weather gear is in very good condition, including side screens.  The bodywork is excellent, with well-fitting doors and bonnet.  The interior, seating, carpets and door cards are good, and there is a brand new, original style steering wheel.  The car starts on-the-button and drives very well indeed, having the benefit of a 5-speed gearbox and probably the best brakes we have encountered on any TF.  It was restored in the 1980s with further work carried out in the late 1990s including a rebuild of its still-original engine.  The underside is very clean and tidy and has obviously been restored at some stage.  There are four excellent tyres on the original, good condition, disc wheels.  Flashing indicators have been fitted for safety and these are incorporated in the side lights.  There is even a period style front lamp and driving lamp, together with additional side mirrors.  All in all, a very crisp example, ready for immediate use.  Comes with file of paperwork and V5C.

1946 MG TC – SOLD

MG TC 1946

We are very pleased to offer this splendid MG TC for sale, in a very fitting shade of dark British Racing Green, complimented by silver wire wheels and oatmeal double-duck hood, side screens and half tonneau cover.  The car is in very well-maintained condition, having been restored in the 1980s with a further refresh over the last couple of years, including new rear wings, a repaint and the fitting of new weather gear.  The interior upholstery is very good, as is the chromework.  The dashboard is a delight as is the Brooklands steering wheel, and everything seems to be working correctly.  The structure of the car appears to be very good, with well-fitting doors and wings.  The underside is workmanlike, well maintained and well protected.  The XPAG engine starts well and runs sweetly and a very pleasant drive down the road reveals that the car performs very well with nice, quiet gearbox and back axle.  This is definitely a car to be used and enjoyed.  It has just had an MOT – valid to April 2024.  Comes with original instruction manual, many MOT certificates, continuation book from 1956 and current V5C.
