We are pleased to offer for sale, on behalf of a very good customer, this very attractively priced Ford Consul Cortina. Prices of classic Fords have gone through the roof in recent years, so this particular car represents great value for money. The car is very original, and quite rare these days, as it has its original column change gearbox, and bench front seat. It has recently had a new distributor, clutch, master cylinder and slave cylinder, new battery, hoses and a few other bits and bobs besides. The car starts first time and ticks over smoothly once warm, it drives very well indeed through its easy to use column change 4-speed gearbox. There is bags of room for the whole family (and dog!) and sitting in the car is very comfortable and quiet. The upholstery, including the original vinyl seats and headlining, is in very good order and the door cards have just been renewed. The mechanics would appear to be all in good working order, and the bodywork is basically sound, but there is room for some improvement in this area, which would greatly enhance the value of the car. The tyres are in good condition and the white wall rims fitted are removable if they aren’t your cup of tea, but they are, of course, a good period piece. Mileage shows 62597, although we are unable to confirm if this is correct. There is an MOT to August 2025, so ready for immediate use. Comes with original Owner’s Handbook and Workshop Manual, classed as an historic vehicle, so no tax to pay.
